49ers and Packers can clinch divisions in week 12

The 49ers aren’t the only team that can lock up a playoff berth in Week 12, though it’s probably little surprise that the 10-0 Packers can also secure a postseason ticket to defend their championship.

First, both clubs must take care of business on Thanksgiving.

San Francisco will win the NFC West for the first time since 2002 with a win at Baltimore and a Seattle loss Sunday vs. the Redskins.

Though the Packers are currently a game up in the conference standings on the 9-1 Niners, they need a little more help at the moment only because they play in a more competitive division.

Green Bay clinches at least a wild card with a win at Detroit and some combination of the following:

Cowboys loss/tie and Falcons loss
Cowboys loss/tie and Saints loss
Giants loss/tie and Falcons loss
