Oguchi Onyewu

AC Milan defender Oguchi Onyewu, who hasn’t played a match since rupturing his patellar tendon in a World Cup qualifier last October, has asked to extend his contract with AC Milan by a year for no pay. This would be considered blasphemy is other leagues such as, NBA, NFL, MLB, just to name a few. Before getting injured, Onyewu had yet to make his Series A debut for Milan (although he did appear in a Champions League match). So his decision was probably a way to prove his commitment to the club without being on the field. Which causes me to examine the motives of some players who constantly remain injured yet continue to be paid. Andrew Bynum.
